That’s what specialty glass can enable – whether you’re driving to work, relaxing at home, or having the best shopping experience of your life.

In the latest installment of the “Inspired by Glass” video series, Corning takes us back to the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show where Corning welcomed booth visitors into the Glass Age, bringing its vision for advanced glass technologies to life and showing exactly what specialty glass can enable.

Host, Alexis Lake, was joined by Jeff Evenson, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Corning, to see how the company has been collaborating over the past five years since launching the “A Day Made of Glass” video series.

“We’ve used our capabilities in glass science and optical physics to develop advanced glasses that enable life-like images and versatile form factors that help dissolve the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds,” said Evenson.

Touching upon each of the five applications areas in the Corning booth, Evenson explained the inspiration behind each application, the trends driving each industry, and how Corning is at the center of enabling each application to come to life.

At the Connected Car, Evenson explained how current trends such as fuel efficiency, light weighting, and the popularity of connected cars are drivers behind the concept showcased at Corning’s booth. Along with that, the Connected Car demonstrated how Corning is continuing to enable those trends.

With CES visitors wowed by Corning’s booth applications, Evenson said this is only the beginning.

“We aren’t even close to the potential of glass,” said Evenson. “But what’s next really depends on our partners, and the idea of our CES booth is to inspire our partners. We are at our best when we’re working with partners to crack tough technology challenges, and we think there are many for us in the future, and I’m excited to be here next year.”
