For the eighth consecutive year, Corning earned recognition as a Best-of-the-Best Corporation for Inclusion from the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and partners in the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC).
The NGLCC formed the consortium in 2011, bringing together nine other minority business associations and nonprofits focused on promoting diverse communities and building networks for business success.
“At Corning, upholding our Values and striving to create a workplace where everyone feels they belong are the foundations of everything we do,” said Dana Moss, vice president and chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer. “It’s gratifying that our work is being recognized and provides motivation for the future.”
To be considered for Best-of-the-Best recognition, corporations must demonstrate inclusive programs, such as supplier diversity initiatives, employee resource groups, and workplace engagement opportunities. Companies also provide a report of diversity and inclusion policies and achievements, as well as other awards and recognitions received.
NGLCC co-founder & president Justin Nelson stated, “The Best-of-the-Best designation celebrates corporations for their unwavering commitment to America’s diverse employees and business owners, including LGBTQ people, persons of color, women, veterans, and people with disabilities. This designation is highly competitive and is bestowed only upon corporations that continually strive to strengthen and celebrate diversity. These honored corporations are true leaders in ongoing global commitments to create a better future for all diverse communities in business.”
