On July 20, Corning was again named a Top Scorer on the Disability Equality Index®, the fifth time the company has achieved this designation. As well as receiving a 100% score, Corning was also recognized by non-profit advocacy organizations Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities as a 2022 Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.

The three-year corporate partnership with Disability:IN will be focused on further integrating disability inclusion best practices into employee recruiting, enhanced technology for existing and prospective employees and supplier diversity. Corning will continue to work on all the following Disability Equality Index measures: culture & leadership; enterprise-wide access; employment practices (benefits, recruiting, employment, education, retention & advancement, accommodations); community engagement; supplier diversity; non-U.S. operations. Globally, people with disabilities represent over one billion people. Disability crosses lines of age, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and religion.

The Disability Equality Index® (DEI) is the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool for the Fortune 1000 and Am Law 2001 to measure disability workplace inclusion against competitors. By taking the DEI, companies can demonstrate stakeholder commitment to disability inclusion and equality, as well as broader social issues, and enhance their reputation. In 2022, 415 corporations, including 69 Fortune 100, 188 Fortune 500, and 227 Fortune 1000 utilized the DEI to benchmark their disability inclusion efforts, representing 14.9 million US employees and 8.8 million non-U.S. based employees.
